Capturing Family Moments: An Extended Family Session with Jessica and Heather
A few months back, I held a giveaway on our social media for a petite session. I drew the winner live on Facebook, and the person who was selected was Jessica!
Though I hadn’t ever officially photographed Jessica, Denniss and I had met her when she joined her twin sister Heather and her family for a session to help with their son Jack who was just a little baby at the time.
Familiar Faces and New Plans
Since that first session with Heather, I’ve photographed her family a few times. Their sessions are always a delight, filled with genuine smiles and warm moments. So, when Jessica won, I thought it would be fun to include Heather and their mother for an extended family photo session. Heather’s husband couldn’t join us due to work commitments, but I knew we could still create some magic when we brought together Heather & Jessica and their children.
I brought Michael along as my photography assistant and because I wanted him to capture some content for our socials. The session took place at Jefferson Patterson Park, which is located in southern Maryland. The weather was perfect, setting the stage for a fun-filled session. The cousins were full of energy, running around and laughing, which made for some wonderful candid shots. Jessica and Heather’s mom was the heart of the session, surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren. The kids' playful antics brought so much life to the session, and it was heartwarming to see the strong bond they all share.
Why Family Sessions Matter
What I do love most is the narrative of relationship we capture during our sessions. These will be memories to treasure for years! Denniss and I love being part of these moments with you.
